I haven't entered a BLOG in forever and now I am going on a River Cruise!!
So.....I figure....if I am going to talk to clients about a River Cruise I better go on one, right? We are scheduled to fly to Bordeaux, France and "force" ourselves on a AMA Waterways river cruise of the Bordeaux Wine Region.
I want to do something different. I love cruising but I have been on so many that I need to expand my travel patterns for awhile. I am still cruising the Caribbean too and am also looking into a Norway Exploration Voyage cruise with Hurtigruten....wanna go?
I am going to find out the following:
1. Is it better to cruise with 150 guests or over 2000, 3000, 4000......?
2. Is the food better on a river cruise?
3. Do I enjoy not waiting in a line to board of disembark in port?
4. How do the cabins compare?
5. What about entertainment? Will it be enough to get me up past 10:00pm?
just to name a few of the questions I want answers for!
I learned last year at my Travel Agent Seminar, AMA Waterways is the best rated River Cruise line, so that is who I booked with. Adding the price of the flight was a bit hard to swallow, as living in Florida, I am not used to paying extra to get to a port.
We are going from Bordeaux to Cadillac, to Pauillac, to Libourne.....tasting wine along the way and even attempting a Bike Tour!
Why should someone consider a river cruise?
1. Tired of the same Caribbean ports
2. Tired of cruising with 2000+ people and herding calls...cruise with 100-200 instead
3. Wanting to experience exquisite, locally shopped free ingredient meals by world class chefs. Check out this video:

I will let you know when I return...I promise a full report!
